Everyone has one of these. They may be different shapes and colors, but if your on the internet, you have one. What is it? A modem, this is what gets you on the internet from your internet server. Which one is it? It's the black box on the left. Here is some info on Analog that I found at Webopedia.

When used in reference to data storage and transmission, analog format is that in which information is transmitted by modulating a continuous transmission signal, such as amplifying a signal's strength or varying its frequency to add or take away data. For example, telephones take sound vibrations and turn them into electrical vibrations of the same shape before they are transmitted over traditional telephone lines. Radio wave transmissions work in the same way. Computers, which handle data in digital form, require modems to turn signals from digital to analog before transmitting those signals over communication lines such as telephone lines that carry only analog signals. Our old barn has a curved roof. It also is in need of some paint, but that isn't going to happen any time soon. It's mostly used for storage, and no, not animals. Lots of other stuff in there. One of these days I'll take some pictures of the inside, but it will have to warm up before I go out there. This freaky weather we are having is really, well freaky. One week it's in the 50's and raining, the next week it's in the 20's and snowing.

One of the "activities" the twins like to do is tear paper. Bella is like a little shredder. She tears it into tiny pieces. She has just now decided to put it in the trash can so grandma doesn't have to pick it up. Luke on the other hand eats the paper, so he doesn't get to play with paper very long.

First off, these aren't the best pictures, but I think you can see the flight of the birds well enough to make them out. These are black birds. They are what I call scavengers. They come every day to pick over the garbage we throw out.

CHILDREN'S TOYS

As you can tell the kids have lots of toys. They have their favorites of course. But they can't play with one, they have to play with them all. They drag them all out and then move on to the next toy. This is their way of playing.

Then we have to pick them all up and put them back after they are all done. They haven't gotten that part yet, but we are working on learning how to clean up.

You probably have one of these. It's a constant battle between men and women, who gets it and who controls it. We have one, but my hubby has it most of the time. I don't use it that much. Plus I don't know what half of the symbols on this mean. I do know how to turn it on and off and change the .............

channels. I don't watch much t.v. I'm either reading or on the computer. If not one of those, I'm busy with Bella and Luke. If I want to watch t.v. I watch it on the internet.

I took Bobbi's suggestion from yesterday and changed my header. Thank you all for the kind comments. I'm not really fond of my own picture, I'd much rather be behind the camera.

I'm not real fond of having my picture taken. But this is a really good idea of how I see myself these days. Always busy with the twins, holding them, playing with them, cleaning up after them. So I thought this was a good picture for this theme.

is a wonderful thing sometimes. But other times it's a pain in the butt. This is our printer, yea I know it's a monster, but it works great. Except when it's out of ink or it's not talking to the computer. My son had to put new ink in the cartridges recently. This is the process he went through. Well not all of it, that would have taken a small book to show you. So this is the shortened version.

This particular printer can fax, scan, print and who knows what else. What's the good thing about it is, it was free. Yep, a local store that my son had worked on their computers, they were going to throw it away, so my son brought it home, did some tinkering and now it's ours.

A little extra. This is for Ron. Last week a winter storm blew in with 4 inches of snow, 50mph winds and frigid temps. Today it's 48 degrees and we are having a thunderstorm. Weird weather for January!!

About 10 years ago we had an ice storm come through here. It did a lot of damage to the trees and wires. We had no electricity for about 4 hours. Plus we had tree limbs down all over the place. One of our trees, a big Elm tree on the east side of the house was damaged the worst. It still has broken limbs. You can see the damage it did when the leaves are off the tree.

The twins have lots of toys. These are NOT their favorite. But they do play with them once in a while. They like the gold car the most because it makes noise when you roll it.

P. S. The camera problem is fixed!! After trying 5 readers and the computer didn't connect, we did one more and it worked. So now my pictures are uploaded. I had 148 pictures to go through. It took me a couple of hours but I finally got them all done. I'm a happy camper!

Bella and Luke are into games. This one anyway, chase. They chase each other or mommy chases them. Either way they get the giggles and run. Well, kind of run. They are so cute when they try to run. But they usually fall down on each other. They they cry and you have to pick them up and kiss their boo boo. Then they are off again.

I've been looking at this seed pod since the leaves came off the trees. It's actually a seed pod from the Trumpet Vine. It has made it's way up the tree.

This poor flower is confused. It's not suppose to be out until spring. But with all the warm weather we've been having it decided to come out now. I'm afraid it got nipped a few days later as the weather turned cold again.

Can't show you a picture as it's on my camera and I can't get it off. My son's lap top isn't working right now, something to do with the charger. The cord to my camera has a short in it, so it won't talk to the computer to upload my pictures. My son has tried 2 different card readers, but the computer doesn't see it and it won't work. So I'm kind of stuck for the moment on uploading pictures. I have a probable 75+ pictures on my camera right now. But he has one more idea and hopefully this one will work. I have 5 days of pictures so if the new idea he has doesn't work, I'll be dropping out of the challenge as I won't have any way of getting my pictures uploaded.

Ok, I need help again. Anyone know who Crown is? I've checked the blog roll but don't see a Crown there. I've clicked on their name but all I get is Profile not available.

The twins are learning to eat with spoons and forks. Little spoons and forks, they are plastic. But when the spoons and forks fail they use their fingers. One of their favorite finger foods is Ramdam Noodles.

Dogs are suppose to be man's best friend. Well, Bubber is more than a friend to my son. Since Katie left us, he's been kind of mopey and lost. So we've been loving on him a lot so he doesn't feel lonesome.

And before you ask, his tongue hangs out because he has no teeth left in his mouth. He has a couple back jaw teeth but that's it. So there's nothing to hold his tongue in his mouth.

Well, here it is a new year. And what a way to start the new year. My camera is having issues. The plug that goes into my computer has a short in it. Not my computer but the camera. I can't upload pictures. My son has to take the card out of the camera and take it to his laptop and upload them to my computer. He his working on getting me a reader for my computer, then I'll be able to upload them myself. Until then it's hit and miss. I actually have a picture, but of course it's on the camera and have to wait for my son to upload them. So for the first picture I'm using one I took a few days ago. For some reason it turned out dark.

Don't know why this happened. So went into Infanview, that's the software I use to "fix" my pictures. It's free so you don't get a whole lot of stuff to play around with. Anyway I went to the effects browser inside Infanview and played around. This is the picture I got. And the big white splotch, it's a snowflake and no it's not on the lens. This is what I got after playing around with it. What do you think?

I'm so looking forward to seeing everyone's pictures this year. I've had a wonderful time looking at all your pictures. I hope you all have an awesome 2012!

This is the only sand I could find around here. A friend brought this little bottle from Florida a few years ago. We were in the middle of winter and snow up to our butts and freezing to death. He thought it was a pretty good reminder of where he had been. Sunny and warm! And yes I know there are cobwebs. The little buggers keep making them faster than I can clean them!

I'm in between dishes cooking so thought I'd post my picture today. This may gross you out, but the kids have a strong relationship with Bubber. The kids have finally learned to feed him, so when they eat they usually share whatever they are eating. It's a mutal relationship for both. The kids eat and the dog gets to eat what's left over.

This is an Ash tree. It's the first tree to loose it's leaves in the fall and the last one to get it's leaves in the spring. When we moved here 30+ years ago, this tree was a sprout, it was about 6 or 7 feet tall. Now it's grown into the sky high clouds. Well, maybe not that high, but it has grown quite a bit. I also found some interesting information about Ash trees I didn't know.

This is Bubber with his early Christmas present. He can't do too much damage as he only has about 4 teeth left. His health is good now, but he's 14 years old. The average life span of miniature dachshunds is 15 years. The breed has several health issues. Disc disease and disc injuries and Teeth and gum problems, which he has had problems with them before. Bubber is generally a happy dog. But he has lost his sister and companion.

Three weeks ago we had to put Katie down. She had cancer and was suffering so much. We couldn't stand watching her waste away. So this is a kind of memorial for Katie, who has gone across the Rainbow Bridge. I've gathered up some pictures of Katie. Hope this shows her personality.

This is our bedroom. The bed came from a rummage sale. I gave five dollars for it and my dad sanded and stained it. The Cedar Chest came from a rummage also. My hubby sanded it varnished it. The two side tables came from rummage sales too. We have several of these around the house. They are called half tables. Perfect for bedside tables. Oh, and the lamps we bought those new.

They have taken my private place, changed my world, and are running amuck in the house. But I love them so much!! I can't even express how much I love them. I've waited 43 years for these little people to come into my life. They are the loves of my life and I wouldn't trade them for a million dollars. The twins have all kinds of toys that make noise. Music is one of their favorites. Bella has a little radio she carries around and it plays nursery rhymes. At any given time you can see her dancing to the music. She sways side to side when she dances.

She's into her rhythm of side to side.

Luke listens to the book that tells a counting story and it has music too.

Do you remember playing with ABC wooden blocks? I do, me and my siblings played with them a lot. So when I found some at a local store, I picked them up for the twins. They aren't quite ready for them yet. But they will be here when they get ready.

I've been married 43 years. My hubby game me my engagement ring when I was 15. We got married when I was 16. I've had my rings on ever since then. I don't take them off to cook or clean. So they have been though a lot over the last 43 years. I actually have an indentation on my finger. My rings are also pretty thin. I'm worried they will break and I'll loose them.

When we redid our kitchen we put a new window in. One you could actually open. The old one wouldn't open. They put in the frame and set the window in. Hubby asked if I wanted it painted. I wanted the natural wood to show. So we left it unpainted. It has some wonderful wood grain and KNOTS showing.

Ok this one is really boring. But it fills the theme of the letter V. There was cold air coming in the dryer vent. It has a latch that is suppose to shut when it's not being use. It gets stuck now and then. Hubby went out and unstuck it.

See, I told it was boring.

We have budding artists. Bella and Luke are painting. Believe me, they made a mess.

They were suppose to make a turkey with their hand-prints. They just wanted to mess in the paint. But it kind of looked like a turkey. You'll have to judge for yourself. Bella's is on the left and Luke's is on the right.

So now I have some more art to put in their scrapbook.

318 - THE LETTER Q

You've probably seen this before. But it's the only thing I could think of for the letter "Q". It's my Bee Quilt. It's in the frame and I'm hand quilting it. It's my hope to finish it by the end of next year. I get a few stitches put in it and then it sits a little longer. My eye sight isn't what it used to be. lol Plus my hubby bought this cute chair at the auction a couple weeks ago. Now I don't have to drag a chair clear across the room.

My hubby got a big box of stuff at the auction. It had lots of stuff in it. Stuffed animals, dolls, crafting things, and sewing items. I picked through the things I wanted to keep. This is some of the stuff I kept. You will notice the zippers. Don't know why I kept those. I don't know how to put a zipper in. Maybe just for this theme, who knows.

I don't work in an office, so had to improvise on this one. This is my office. I read, crochet, watch t.v. programs, pay bills, blog and socialize here. So this is my office. And yes that's dust you see. It needs a good dusting but haven't gotten around to it. On my to-do list. And if anyone is wondering about the mason jar, I keep my little snips of yarn there. I save them to put outside for the birds in the spring for nest building. Now if I could just figure out how to do the dishes from here. lol

When Bella gets up from sleeping she has this funky hair going on. We call it Einstein hair. It sticks up all over the place. On the back of her head the hair is fuzzy. She is starting to get some curls now but being in bed really messes them up.

A few years ago I did a postcard swap at one of my other blogs. We had to send a postcard from our area and a little souvenir from our area. I got a pretty postcard from Jerusalem, Israel.

And as a souvenir the lady sent me this camel. I have him sitting on my desk.

We have a barn cat that hangs around here. He catches mice and hides out in our barn. About once a day he comes up to the house and hangs out with the cat statue in my garden. I shot this through the back door, the window is plexiglass. So it gives it a kind of filmy look to it.

I was taking some laundry out of the dryer the other night and of course the twins had to help me. Their form of help is to pull all the clothes out of the dryer onto the floor. While I try to fold them as fast as possible. They usually get them all out before I get them all folded. There was a washrag clear in the back and Bella couldn't read it. Her solution...........

is to get in the dryer and get the washrag and of course Luke wanted to get in to, but I caught him before he got in. Which made him mad.

I've had a house full of company this week. My sister came in for a visit with her hubby and daughters. My Niece came over to visit with her twin boys, Hunter and Hayden. Her twins are 4 months 1 day younger than our twins. So I've been pretty busy picking up toys and cooking.

My sister is to the right and her daughter. My Niece is to the left and of course the twins.

This is my son, Tommy. He borrows his boss's scooter to come home for lunch. He puts all his computer stuff into the a backpack and comes home. Brings lots of memories back for me.

The leaves are falling fast around here. They are everywhere. The leaves aren't as pretty this year. They are kind of a dull color. I think it's because of a lack of rain this summer, but that's my opinion.

I have lots of letters that I use for scrapbooking. So I decided to use this file box. I covered it with some fabric I had and used some little envelopes and this is what I got.
